People Give a Mandate to Abdullah, Not Najib

In no official title, Datuk Seri Najib Razak could not tell people to give a five-year mandate to lead the country since he was not elected through elections.

In contrast, the National front (BN) won the general election-12, March 2008, Najib was appointed by Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to lead the BN, thus forming the government.

Actually, the people gave a mandate through an election of Abdullah, not Najib. He can not be said that, supposedly he was given the mandate by the people.

Najib, in his statement last night insisted the BN government now intends to use the full five-year mandate to serve the people after the election in 2008.
